Islamic Matrimony without Ghotok

Noghotok shows your contact number to a candidate only after you approve the request. Beyond that, here is what makes it different:

You can load credit from your dashboard in two ways:

• Online: pay straight away by card, mobile banking or internet banking. The credit is added as soon as the payment succeeds.
• Manual (Bangla QR): scan the QR code under Bangla QR with any mobile payment app and send the amount. In the app, make sure to select Payment, not Send Money. This route is manual, so the credit is added after we verify the payment rather than instantly.

One. A mobile number opens one account, and an account carries one biodata.

• One number, one account: each mobile number and each email can be used for a single account only, so the same number cannot open a second one.
• Credit belongs to the account: your balance sits with the account, not with the biodata, and is spent from there.
• Free proposals and daily limits are counted per account: they are not counted separately for each biodata.
• The biodata contact number can be someone else's: a father, mother, brother or guardian's number may be given on the biodata. It does not have to be the number you log in with.

No. NoGhotok has no photo feature at all, so there is nothing to view and nothing to upload.

This is the most deliberate decision on the platform. We believe a life partner should be chosen for character, faith and conduct rather than for a face. When a photograph is on the page, the eye goes there first and everything else comes second, and in a decision as serious as marriage that is where people go most wrong.

So the biodata carries what a real decision is made on instead: prayer and religious practice, education, profession, family, age, height and district. Purdah and privacy stay fully intact, with no risk of a picture spreading.

Once a proposal is accepted, though, the two sides are in direct contact, and you are free to exchange photographs between yourselves at that point. That part is entirely between you. NoGhotok only makes the introduction; the rest of the decision is yours.

A 300 Taka top-up adds 300 Credits, which sends up to 3 proposals at the current base price.

• 1 Taka = 1 Credit: a 300 Taka top-up adds 300 Credits. Larger loads add bonus credit on top.
• Proposal price: the current base price is 100 credit per proposal, the same for men and women, and some biodatas cost more than that. The total for a particular biodata is shown before you confirm.
• Refunds: if a paid proposal is not accepted, the applicable credit is returned automatically under the current refund policy.

How long credit stays valid depends on how much you recharge.

• 300 or 500 Taka: 3 months
• 1,000 Taka: 6 months
• 2,000, 3,000 or 4,000 Taka: 9 months
• 5,000 Taka: 1 year

If you recharge again before your credit expires, your validity becomes whichever is longer: the time you already had, or the period the new recharge grants. The maximum is 1 year. Your previous unused credit carries forward and combines with the new credit, it is not lost.

If you recharge after your credit has already expired, the expired credit cannot be recovered.

In Islam, masna means a man marrying more than one wife, up to four, on the condition that he can be just to all of them and carry the responsibility (Surah An-Nisa 4:3). On NoGhotok it is a separate section that lists only women who have themselves agreed to be a second wife. For the detailed rulings, please consult a scholar.

Who is eligible

• Women: any woman with an approved biodata who ticks, in her biodata, that she agrees to be a second wife. Only these women are listed, and a masna proposal can reach only them. She can receive proposals from men of any marital status: unmarried, married, divorced or widowed.
• Men: any man with a biodata of his own can register. Registration is one time, 2000 Taka, non-refundable, and active as soon as it is paid. You also get 1000 credit free load.
• Married men must register before they can send any proposal. Once registered, they can send proposals only to women who agreed to masna, at 500 credit per proposal. Refunds on rejection, withdrawal or no response follow the same rules as an ordinary proposal.
• A married man can never send a proposal to a woman who has not agreed to masna.
